RedBox Studio (est. 2005) is an art and design studio providing a unique combination of graphic design and art advisory services that promote contemporary art in China. As a private organization, we work with artists, collectors and institutions to facilitate acquisitions, exhibitions, art programs, and publications. Founded by former New York gallery directors, Katherine Don and George Chang have been involved in the promotion of contemporary art for over ten years in Beijing and New York, serving as a bridge for cultural exchange between East and West.
George Chang 章森, Creative Director George Chang is a formally trained artist who graduated with a Masters in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, New York. Born in Hangzhou, China, and raised in Beijing, George moved to New York at the age of 15. Following four years as Director and Curator at a New York gallery specializing in contemporary Chinese art, George returned to Beijing in 2005 to pursue his art career and co-establish RedBox Studio. He is the Creative Director for all RedBox Studio design and printed matter projects.
Katherine Don 唐凯琳, Director / Art Advisor Katherine Don is an art advisor specializing in contemporary art in China. Born in Hawaii, Katherine graduated with a dual-degree in Art History and East Asian Studies from Barnard College, Columbia University and has worked with various contemporary New York-based artists and at various arts related organizations, including Paul Kasmin Gallery, Art In General, and The New Yorker Magazine. She is a former director of a New York-based gallery focusing on contemporary Chinese art and she a regular columnist on industry trends, with published articles featured in Art in America, Art Asia Pacific, and the Yishu Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art. As Director, she oversees all art project initiatives and works with artists, collectors and institutions to facilitate acquisitions, exhibitions, art programs, and publications.
